Κορώνη's Voice

Koroni is very chatty! It doesn't usually speak or type much in English, but shei does enjoy crow noise onomatopoeia! This page is just a collection of those sounds, how Κορώνη prefers to type them, and what they mean. The meanings here are taken from what they mean with real-life crows, by the way, except for my notes on why Koroni does them!

Companion Call

Koroni: Kha! Kha! Kha! Kha! Kha!

This series of calls is the most familiar for people--it's the standard "caw." There's a number of them in a row, a pause while the crow listens for a response, and then the series is repeated. This call basically means nothing warranting a specific call is happening, and is just a way for crows to indicate that there's a crow here to other crows. (Source)

Koroni hasn't made this call yet, as far as I know.

Comb/Rattle Call

Koroni: Kxkxkxkxkxkxk

The rattle call basically sounds like running a stick across the teeth of a comb. It's believed to be a friendly call, often noticed by people who feed crows.

Koroni makes this sound when excited, usually while hopping around.

Medium Call

Koroni: rhh rhAH!

This is most likely a territorial call, generally done while bowing and puffing up feathers. (Source)

Koroni makes this sound specifically towards people shei doesn't feel are safe, or as a reaction to hearing something unpleasant or threatening.
